Imagine the impact on an ambulance of having a smashed windscreen while a patient is under treatment – if it’s an emergency, the patient’s life can be put in danger. The potential risk to life and limb is all the more shocking when, as happened in Birmingham recently, an ambulance windscreen was deliberately smashed while the paramedics were attending to a patient.
