An unnamed woman has been hit and severely injured by a police car in Bristol city centre while the car was on its way to answer an emergency call. The woman who is 33 years old is currently in intensive care in a critical condition after being struck by the police car. The driver of the police car had its blue lights flashing and was driving to respond to a 999 call and reports of a man armed with a knife who was apparently threatening people in the Stokes Croft area of the city.
