Wolverhampton police have come up with a novel way of reducing thefts from cars – they have installed a talking box on a lamp post at West Park, which speaks a warning message to people passing by. Operated by a heat sensor, the solar-powered message board delivers a message which prompts drivers to be certain they have removed any valuables from view and locked their cars securely, and also warns passers-by that there are pickpockets at large in the vicinity.
