The pillars that support a car windscreen can cause lethal blind spots – you can easily miss a cyclist, a motorcyclist or even another vehicle if your view is obscured, and the results can be tragic. Jaguar Land Rover have thought about this problem and have come up with something called a 360 Virtual Urban Windscreen which has screens attached to the side pillars showing a live feed of the view outside the car. Effectively you will have a 360 degree view through the windscreen as if the pillars weren’t there – it’s like something out of a science fiction film.
