Volkswagen have announced that they are investigating a coating for car windscreens that will prevent them from misting up and also leave them frost-free. If they succeed this could be great news for drivers as we won’t have to waste precious time in the mornings demisting our windscreens, freeze our fingers while wielding the ice scraper or pour kettles of hot water over our windscreens in winter. VW are only in the trial phase of the project so if successful it may be a few years before their new windscreen becomes available commercially, but it sounds like a great innovation.
